This month has been of many events at Google. YouTube announced via blog that there will be automatic captions available for Youtube videos. Currently, this is in a beta/testing stage and hence would be available only on 13 channels. We are not sure which those 13 channels are however, we know that some of these channels include National Geographic, Columbia, as well as most Google and YouTube channels. Captions are currently available only in English however, Youtube engineers are working on venturing into other languages.

YouTube on Tuesday introduced a new portal, dubbed YouTube Direct, intended to provide news organizations with a more organized way to find and use homemade videos about the day’s major news stories.
