Three Symbian^4 UI mockups found their way to the surface. As compared to previous leaks, now there are semi-transparent menu overlays and richer variety of sample homescreen widget. But the pictures show only a small part, the Concept Proposal document offers a lot more suggestions though.

The semi-transparent menu bar overlay is the most notable change we can see. Next are the nicely designed clock and to-do widgets, and that’s all you can conclude from these new images.

The User Interface Concept Proposal found alongside the UI design mockups include renewed layouts, non-standard shaped homescreen widgets with free movement and placement, improved task-switcher, redesigned Settings and Power menus.

The renewed layouts concerns the titlebar region, which may contain three interactive elements – universal signal and battery indicators, app title menu with drop-down element for more options and a back button. The titlebar and the bottom menu bar can be set to auto-hide on a predefined interval.

The Symbian^2 and ^3 are expected in Q1 and Q4 this year, while the Symbian^4 shown here is scheduled for the early 2011.

Nokia E71 does not require any Introduction in the i-world. It was Nokias qwerty Goliath that took on the rest of the mobile world Giants. E71 was one of the best selling Nokia device ever made.

Having said that, the new hype in the Nokia world other than their N900 is Nokia E72. It is personally one of my favorite qwerty devices. Since it is taking over the world Nokia E71 had already conquered, I am sure it is here not here to disappoint us.

5. Better Flash Player
6. 3.5mm Audio Output jack

8. Scrolling Option (I am not a big fan of this feature)
9. New battery with a better battery life.
10. USB Charging supported (While connected to the computer. No dedicated USB charger)

Having said these, I have heard that Nokia has suddenly decided to drop Series 60, 3rd Edition Feature Pack 3 to feature pack 2 due to technical glitches. I some how feel like an ol’timer who says “This is as good as it can get” because I don’t know how know Nokia is going to be upgrading E72 next year. Maybe a 256MB RAM, 32GB internal memory, an 8Mega pixel camera with Carl Zeiss final touch…. Well, we can’t say much now – because I still believe this is as Good as it can get.
