Tracing cell phones has always been a daunting task due to its immense number and variety. It used to be nearly impossible to determine the exact location of an unauthorized call from a cell phone by any current technology; this posed a very big problem to the authorities in keeping a tab on the illegal activities that take place via untraceable cell phones!

Well, as usual, someone found a solution to that too! That someone is none other than Berkeley Varitronics Systems. Well it isn’t exactly a giant in the tech world but it is time to take note of them now, as they have announced the release of a new hand-held cell phone detector named the “BLOODHOUND” after “a man’s best friend”. The bloodhound is designed to empower the security enforcers to scan real-time unauthorized cell phone activities in the vicinity.

Locating contraband cell phones which have been smuggled can be a very tedious task and thee cell phones can even be used as triggers for bombs and can go undetected through the metal detectors and the bomb squads!

This was the necessity behind the invention of the bloodhound detector which can track cell phones which are illegal without interfering with the public or communications.

The bloodhound is designed to pinpoint contraband cell phones without any hindrance to authorized channels. It uses a high speed scanning multi-band receiver harnessed to a DF(Direction Finding Antenna), enabling cops to ’sniff out’ the RF energy – similar in method as to how an actual Bloodhound dog is able to detect a scent which a human could never discern. The Bloodhound’s special algorithm can trigger on to a cell phone while it is still active, and a headphone jack with a progressive audible alert tone and an accompanying vibrator is able to alert security officers of cell phone activity whenever they get closer to the source.

So watch out smugglers cause the Bloodhound will turnout to be a smuggler’s worst nightmare!!
